According to News18 CricketNext, Gill started training with throwdown specialists at 11.30 am on Thursday and batted for an hour.
Gill had been suffering from dengue, and has missed both of India’s matches, against Australia and Afghanistan, so far. On Wednesday, he had flown to Ahmedabad from Chennai to continue his recovery and regain fitness before the Pakistan game.
In both the matches, Ishan Kishan opened with Rohit Sharma. While Kishan was dismissed for a duck against Australia, he went onto score 47 runs against Afghanistan, which eventually proved to be a match-winning effort.
The India vs Pakistan match takes place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday. India are placed second in the World Cup points table with four points, behind New Zealand on net run-rate, and ahead of Pakistan, who are third with the same number of points.
Pakistan are winless in seven World Cup meetings against India.
