The Indian contingent at Hangzhou enjoyed a Super Sunday in the 19th Asian Games, winning a total of 15 medals for their overall count to go past 50 on Day 8.
India won gold in shooting and two more in athletics in addition to seven silver — including a historic one in badminton — and five bronze.
The windfall of medals on Sunday has allowed the Indians to firmly entrench themselves at the fourth spot on the medal table ahead of nations such as Uzbekistan and Thailand, and they will hope to remain there come Day 9.
Among the sports that will kick off for the first time in the 19th Asian Games on Monday is Kabaddi, where the Indians are the dominant force and will to get their campaign off to a flying start.
