केरल क्रिकेट संघ (केसीए) ने कप्तान सचिन बेबी का विरोध करने के आरोप में 5 खिलाड़ियों पर प्रतिबंध और 8 पर जुर्माना लगाया है। इन खिलाड़ियों में राजस्थान रॉयल्स की तरफ से आईपीएल खेलने वाले स्टार खिलाड़ी संजू सैमसन भी हैं। केसीए के सचिव श्रीजीत नायर ने कहा कि सभी खिलाड़ी टीम की शांति, सौहार्द, स्थिरता और केसीए के हितों को नुकसान पहुंचा रहे थे। साथ ही कप्तान के खिलाफ हस्ताक्षर अभियान में शामिल थे।

चौथे टेस्ट के पहले दिन इंग्लैंड को 246 रन पर समेटने के बाद भारत ने पहली पारी में बिना किसी नुकसान के 19 रन बनाए। केएल राहुल 11 और शिखर धवन 3 रन बनाकर नाबाद लौटे। इससे पहले सलामी बल्लेबाजों और मध्यक्रम के खराब प्रदर्शन के बावजूद इंग्लैंड ने सैम कुरेन के 78 और मोइन अली के 40 रनों की बदौलत पहली पारी में 246 रन बनाए। भारत के लिए बुमराह सबसे सफल गेंदबाज रहे। उन्होंने तीन विकेट लिए। इशांत शर्मा, मोहम्मद शमी और अश्विन ने 2-2 विकेट लिए। इशांत ने कप्तान जो रूट का विकेट लेकर अपने टेस्ट करियर के 250 विकेट पूरे किए। तेज गेंदबाजों में उनसे पहले सिर्फ कपिल देव और जहीर खान ही भारत के लिए यह आंकड़ा छू पाए थे।

टेनिस कोर्ट पर टी-शर्ट बदलने वाली कॉर्नेट ने किया सेरेना का समर्थन, कहा- 'कैटसूट' पर रोक लगाना खराब निर्णय

फ्रांस की महिला टेनिस खिलाड़ी एलीज कॉर्नेट ने अमेरिकी खिलाड़ी सेरेना विलियम्स के 'ब्लैकपैंथर कैटसूट' का समर्थन किया है। कॉर्नेट ने कहा कि भविष्य में उसे पहनने से रोकना यूएस ओपन के दौरान उनके कपड़े को बदलने से दस हजार गुणा खराब फैसला है। कॉर्नेट को कोर्ट पर कपड़े बदलने के कारण कोड ऑफ कंडक्ट के उल्लंघन का दोषी पाया गया। इस कारण टेनिस फेडरेशन ने उन्हें फटकार लगाई।

अरपिंदर सिंह और स्वप्ना बर्मन ने 18वें एशियाई खेलों में बुधवार को भारत के लिए 2 स्वर्ण पदक जीते। अरपिंदर ने पुरुषों की ट्रिपल जम्प के फाइनल में 16.77 मीटर की छलांग लगाई। स्वप्ना ने महिलाओं की हेप्टाथलॉन में 7 अलग-अलग इवेंट में 6,026 अंक हासिल किए। भारत के एथलेटिक्स में अब 5 समेत कुल 11 स्वर्ण पदक हो गए। इस एशियाड में भारत के अब 54 पदक हो गए हैं। इसमें सबसे ज्यादा 14 पदक एथलेटिक्स में हैं। भारत ने 1962 जकार्ता एशियाड में 12 स्वर्ण समेत 52 पदक जीते थे।

पीवी सिंधु ने 18वें एशियाई खेलों में मंगलवार को बैडमिंटन महिला एकल का रजत पदक जीता। खिताबी मुकाबले में उन्हें चीनी ताइपे की ताई जू युंग ने 21-13, 21-16 से हराया। सिंधु एशियाई खेलों में बैडमिंटन के इतिहास में रजत पदक जीतने वाली पहली भारतीय हैं। इससे पहले बैडमिंटन की एकल स्पर्धा में भारत का सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन 1982 दिल्ली एशियाड में रहा था। तब सैयद मोदी ने पुरुष एकल का कांस्य पदक जीता था। एशियाई खेलों में बैडमिंटन में भारत का यह 10वां पदक है। इस एशियाड में साइना नेहवाल ने बैडमिंटन महिला एकल का कांस्य पदक जीता।
