India vs Sri Lanka LIVE:

Sanjay Manjrekar and Matthew Hayden analyses the RPS pitch

SM: “Bounce is pretty high and there is pretty similar kind of bounce. Almost 70 per cent of the wickets picked up by the pacers. Pitch for today looking a lot different. No grass on this one. Doesn’t matter who wins the toss and does what. You just have to bat well.”

MH: “This looks a lot like Premadasa of old. This has got no grass whatsoever. It will also have an abrasive effect on the ball. I expect spin to play a big role tonight.”

India vs Sri Lanka Live

India take on Sri Lanka in their second Super Four clash in the Asia Cup. Both teams have one win each at this stage of the competition. Sri Lanka come in after a breather and after being tested by Bangladesh. In comparison, India had an easy outing against Pakistan but were at the ground for two straight days.

After beating Pakistan by 228 runs across two days, India shift focus to facing Sri Lanka in their second Super 4s clash in the Asia Cup. And once again, plenty of attention will be kept skywards with rain once again expected make an appearance.

According to weather updates, there are chances of thunderstorms with 81 per cent humidity and 19 km/h wind. The temperature is predicted to be 29 degrees Celsius.

India haven’t had the best luck dealing with the weather. Rohit Sharma’s team have spent plenty of time in the dressing room with all three matches in the tournament seeing rain with one of them washed out completely.

In the Super Four stage, both India and Sri Lanka have one win each (as do Pakistan). But India are top of the table as a result of their resounding showing against Pakistan.

Having played just 12 hours ago, there could be changes in the Indian team to keep things fresh for Friday when they play Bangladesh. Another approach could be to get the job done today and take a breather before the final.
