That brings us to the end of our coverage of Day 7 of the 19th Asian Games, with India winning gold medals in men’s squash and tennis mixed doubles, a silver in the mixed team 10m air pistol event as well as a silver and bronze in the men’s 10000m race.
India’s medal count rises to 38 with 10 gold and 14 silver and bronze each, and they find themselves at the fourth spot, behind the big three (China, Japan and South Korea). The Indians are ahead of Uzbekistan by a solitary medal, with both nations having won 10 gold medals each.
India have also assured themselves medals in several other sports, including the badminton men’s team event where they defeated South Korea, as well as in the table tennis women’s doubles event where Ayhika and Suthirtha Mukherjee stunned China’s world No 2 pair Meng Chen and Yidi Wang to advance to the semis.

Asian Games Day 7 LIVE: India have added two medals so far at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on Saturday, the seventh day’s of sporting action. The first, a silver, came in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event courtesy Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS. Later, Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale clinched a gold medal in the mixed doubles tennis event. Preeti Pawar and Lovlina Borgohain assured India of medals in boxing. In women’s golf, Aditi Ashok looks to be in a great position for a gold with the team set to bag a medal as well.
India will add at least one more medal to their tally with gold medal match in squash between India and Pakistan. In things to watch out for, there is India vs Pakistan in hockey and India vs South Korea in men’s team badminton.
On Day 6, India had an impressive day with eight medals swelling up the country’s kitty to 33 medals. Women’s 10m Air Pistol Team, Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team, Esha Singh, Palak Gulia, Aishwary Pratap Singh increased the tally from shooting. India also bagged a silver medal in men’s doubles tennis and bronze in women’s team squash events. Kiran Baliyan earned the first medal in athletics.
