India vs Australia, 2nd ODI: Focus on Shreyas Iyer's form as hosts look to clinch series; LIVE streaming and more

After clinching a five wicket win in the first ODI against Australia, India will set their sights on sealing the series when the two teams face off in the second one-dayer on Sunday. In the first ODI, India seemed to have ticked many boxes, more so after Suryakumar Yadav came good with a half-century. That was his first half century in ODIs in more than 20 innings, and another superb outing on Sunday would certainly put him in front to seal the playing XI spot for the World Cup.

Shreyas Iyer ‘s case is a contrasting one. Iyer, who had returned to competitive cricket in the Asia Cup before being ruled out due to back spasm, was declared to be fully fit by head coach Rahul Dravid for the Australia ODIs.

However, if his outing in the first ODI is to go by, it may be worrying signs for the middle-order. Shreyas Iyer will be certain to get more game time with the World Cup looming, but it will be interesting to see how he deals with immense pleasure and expectations.

India’s pace bowling attack is something that has dominated headlines since the start of the Asia Cup. Jasprit Bumrah made a remarkable return, Mohammed Siraj showcased why he could be a threat for the opposition, and now, in the first ODI, it was Mohammed Shami’s time to shine.Shami finished with figures of 5/51, and was more impactful in the death overs, collecting three of those wickets in the last five over.

Shardul Thakur, however, endured a disappointing outing with the ball after he went wicketless for 78 runs in his 10 overs.

Much was expected from Ravichandran Ashwin on Friday, but although he took the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne, the Tamil Nadu cricketer was unable to generate turn on what generally was a flat track.
