India vs Bangladesh, Asia Cup: Colombo weather prediction, pitch report for Super Four clash

India will take on Bangladesh in the final Super 4s match in Colombo of the ongoing Asia Cup. So far, rain has been a persistent obstacle in all of India’s matches in this tournament. Their first match against Pakistan was washed out, they beat their arch rivals in the second match by a thumping margin of 228 runs – a contest that was played over two days. They then secured the final berth with a 41-run win over Sri Lanka.

The weather in Colombo has been a major concern throughout the tournament. There were talks of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) moving the Super 4 matches to Hambantota but then stuck with the original schedule.

As far as the India vs Bangladesh match is concerned, there is a 65 percent chance of rain. Thunderstorms are expected in the morning as well as the afternoon, with an anticipated 90 per cent cloud cover.

Regarding the Premadasa pitch, India have played on two contrasting surfaces. Against Pakistan, they smashed 356 for 2, but their batting struggled on a spin friendly track in the match against Sri Lanka where they were knocked out for 213.

India, who have already qualified for the final, could rest a few of their main players. The side had to play back-to-back matches over three days and workload management becomes paramount. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya could be rested and Prasidh Krishna could make an appearance.

Bangladesh will be without former captain Mushfiqur Rahim. The right-handed batter has remained home to be with his newborn child and family.
