Everything seems to be alright in the Pakistan dressing room. There were several reports of a rift between captain Babar Azam and seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi, but the players have put all these theories to rest with a number of wholesome images. There were reports that suggested a verbal dispute between Azam and Shaheen following Pakistan’s defeat to Sri Lanka in the Super Four, which eliminated them from the Asia Cup.
Initially, it was reported that Babar was not very happy with the way the senior players had performed and he even asked them to step up and make themselves accountable. In response, Afridi had challenged the captain, suggesting that he should also acknowledge those who performed well.
On Tuesday, social media was abuzz with excitement as there were a number of photos of both these players at Shaheen’s wedding. Shaheen, who had just tied the knot with Ansha Afridi, daughter of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, shared a photo with Azam.

Babar too shared a picture of both the players. Shaheen had also shared a candid photo of both playing chess one day before his wedding and called Babar ‘family’.

In the midst of these developments, a senior member of the Pakistan men’s cricket team too quashed all the reports of a heated exchange between Babar and Afridi. He said that the team was solely focused on the results and cricket.
“The team’s sole focus is on cricket, and we are not concerned about the critics. Losing a match gives our critics an opportunity to voice their opinions, but these are merely negative speculations,” the player was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
The player further added that a team meeting was held after the match, but there was nothing combative. The meet comprised constructive discussion around the performance of the side.
