There's a good chance India could play Suryakumar Yadav or Tilak Varma today to give them some game time before the World Cup. If both don't play then who will you pick?
SKY is a brilliant batter in T20Is but he hasn't been the same in ODIs and while Tilak is still a rookie he is a left-handed batter who can bowl off-spin and adds an extra dimension to Team India's arsenal.

India vs Bangladesh LIVE Score and Updates, Asia Cup 2023 Super Four: Rohit Sharm-led Men in Blue bring an end to their Asia Cup 2023 Super Four campaign with a game against neighbours Bangladesh at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. India have already qualified for the final Sunday and are set to face Sri Lanka who progressed to the summit clash with a victory against Pakistan on the last ball Thursday.
While the game against Bangladesh is a dead runner, it is not expected to lack any intensity as India would want to continue the winning momentum ahead of the final while Bangladesh would look to test themselves against a team that is considered one of the favourites for the upcoming World Cup.
But despite having one eye on the victory, India are expected to make a few changes to manage workload issues and allow squad players to have a crack in the Asia Cup. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah could be rested, while who would play between Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur would depend on the conditions.
All the yes however from Idnia’s perspective will be on Shreyas Iyer. While he is a first-choice player, he missed the last two games after suffering back spasms and if he is fit, there’s a good chance he would come back into the team instead of Ishan Kishan or KL Rahul. Iyer had a long nets session Thursday and looked ready for the game.
In case he is not fit, India could play Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Whoever they pick would also be an indicator of the batter who could replace Iyer in case the Mumbai cricketer fails to get fit in time for the World Cup.
In such a race, Varma could pip SKY as he has the ability to bowl off-spin.
