Suryakumar Yadav's shares cryptic post after Hardik Pandya replaces Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians captain

Suryakumar Yadav shared a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday after Hardik Pandya was appointed the captain of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024. Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as MI’s captain ahead of players like Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar. Hardik made his IPL debut with MI in 2015 before being released in 2022 when he joined debutants Gujarat Giants.

The all-rounder led GT to the IPL title in 2022 and also took them to the final in IPL 2023. He was traded in by Mumbai from GT last month.

Explained: Why MI made Hardik captain for IPL 2024 over Rohit?

After Hardik was made MI’s captain on Friday, SKY shared a post with an emoji of a broken heart. Suryakumar has not written anything more in the tweet but it is being seen as a reaction to Pandya becoming Mumbai Indians captain ahead of him.

SKY was the vice-captain of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 and also captained the side a few times when Rohit Sharma played as an Impact Player.

Suryakumar is not the only Mumbai player to share a cryptic post after Pandya’s return to MI. Earlier, Bumrah shared an Instagram post that read “Silence is sometimes the best answer” after Pandya moved to MI from Gujarat Titans.

A few reports have stated that Bumrah is unhappy with the decision as he wanted to be the captain of the franchise.

Bumrah and Surykumar were seen as future replacements for former captain Rohit, but that position has now gone to Pandya.
