India take on South Africa in the first T20I of the three-match series at Kingsmead, Durban on Sunday. The upcoming three-match series is another opportunity for Team India to sort out their combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. However, there’s a slight concern of rain playing spoilsport in the first T20I at Durban.

The hourly forecast from AccuWeather for Durban shows that there will be rain at the start of the noon in Durban. The match, however, is expected to start at 4 PM South Africa time (7.30 PM IST). At 4 PM South Africa time, the chances of rain are 20%, and it will stay the same till 10 PM when the chances of rain are as high as 58%. The match, however, should be over by 10 PM local time. But with a 20% chance of rain, we could see minor interruptions during the match.

The stadium in Durban has always offered batting-friendly pitches. 22 out of 34 innings have witnessed scores above 150+ with five 200+ scores. The highest 226/6 came in August this year. Based on the record, runs are expected once again and the team winning the toss may elect to bowl first.
