India vs England, T20 World Cup 2021 Warm-up Match Live: Rahul, Kishan put up 50-run partnership

21:56 (IST)

After 7 overs,India 72/0 ( KL Rahul 44 , Ishan Kishan 27)

Moeen Ali gets a go with the ball. Single to begin. Oh, crunched by KL Rahul, it's turning into the arc of KL Rahul, who finds the gap between deep mid-wicket and long-on. Dot and then KL Rahul goes one better with a maximum, it's short and it's pulled to deep square leg! Single from Rahul, good cricket. Played fine with the sweep by Ishan Kishan, and the duo run two.

21:52 (IST)

After 6 overs,England 51/2 ( Dawid Malan 10 , Jonny Bairstow 3)

Chris Jordan to bowl now. Single, dot and single to begin. Ishan Kishan took a nasty blow to his rib cage from a shorter delivery, but he seems to have gotten over it. KL Rahul hammers it down the ground for SIX! That was bowled into the slot, and it's a wonderfully poised swing of the bat, which sees the ball disappear into the night sky. Two singles to end, not a bad powerplay at all for India.

21:46 (IST)

After 5 overs,India 49/0 ( KL Rahul 25 , Ishan Kishan 23)

Out with Willey, in with Wood. Ishan greets him with a four, that was sent straight back over the bowler's head. Two singles and a dot follow, before Ishan Kishan absolutely smokes a shorter delivery for six, that one was pulled out of the ground! Another boundary from Kishan, nicely done! 16 off the over!

21:40 (IST)

After 4 overs,India 33/0 ( KL Rahul 25 , Ishan Kishan 8)

Woakes continues, and he's hit for back to back fours by KL Rahul! The first one is lifted over backward square leg, and the second sent over mid-off. Dot and then SIX! Big hitting from Rahul here! Belted over deep mid-wicket! And a four to end, swatted away to long leg fence!

21:35 (IST)

After 3 overs,India 15/0 ( KL Rahul 7 , Ishan Kishan 8)

More Willey to enjoy, he continues with a second over. Dot and then Willey strikes! Oh no, Woakes has dropped it! He's such a good fielder usually. Oh, Ishan Kishan is living life on the edge here, he's almost caught again, this time he hits to Livingstone, but the ball lands just centimetres short of the fielder at deep square leg, it's just a single. Another single and then a good shorter delivery for dot. Dot to end the over, good one that.

21:30 (IST)

After 2 overs,India 13/0 ( KL Rahul 6 , Ishan Kishan 7)

Chris Woakes comes into the attack. Three dots in a row to begin, and then Ishan Kishan lets loose through the covers for four, that one was absolutely hammered. Dot and single to end the over.

21:27 (IST)

After 1 overs,India 8/0 ( KL Rahul 6 , Ishan Kishan 2)

The rather unfortunately named Willey gets us underway with the first over, and KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan will open. Single, dot and single to begin. Rahul then pulls wide of short fine leg for four.

21:08 (IST)

England end with 188/5

Bhuvneshwar gets the final over and he bowls a wide to start off. Dot ball, great wide yorker. Ohh, Virat Kohli almost had a midfield, he overran the ball a bit at deep cover, but managed to hold on. Moeen runs two. And two more. He'll be hoping for a boundary or two though, and he gets it! That was very lucky, he swings his bat a wider delivery, and an edge pushes it just past a diving Rishabh Pant. Oh wonderful work from Ali, it's a low full toss and he slices it over backward point for SIX! ANOTHER SIX TO END! This one is straight down the ground! Lovely stuff from Moeen.

21:03 (IST)

After 19 overs,England 167/5 ( Moeen Ali 23 , Chris Woakes 1)

Jonny Bairstow takes a double off the first ball, and then Bairstow is OUT! Jasprit Bumrah has his wicket! Jonny Bairstow was just one run away from his half-century, but Bumrah pulls the rug right out from under him with a sensational yorker! Just four more from the over.

20:57 (IST)

After 18 overs,England 161/4 ( Moeen Ali 21 , Jonny Bairstow 47)

Mohammed Shami's final over now. He's got three in three overs, can he get another? Dot and then it's almost a run out! Moeen was stranded, and Kohli had a clear view of the stumps, but he misses with his throw. FOUR! Moeen smashes it hard down the ground! Oh, back-to-back fours! Dispatched between extra cover and long-off! Two singles to end the over.

20:52 (IST)

After 17 overs,England 149/4 ( Moeen Ali 10 , Jonny Bairstow 46)

Bhuvneshwar's third over now. He's not had the most remarkable IPL, not by his lofty standards at least. Can he make up for that in this tournament? He begins with a double and a single, before giving away a wide. Dot and then a gorgeous hit from Moeen Ali, he's been in real good form of late. Lofted over cover with ridiculous ease, that's four! Single and then a well-run double to end the over.

20:47 (IST)

After 16 overs,England 137/4 ( Moeen Ali 2 , Jonny Bairstow 44)

Jasprit Bumrah to bowl his third over. He's been quiet tonight, but he's one of the best bowlers in world cricket at the moment, and he could strike at any time. Single, dot and two to begin, before Bairstow plays a square-drive past backward point for four. Bit of a break, Bairstow wants the ball sanitised. Low full toss from Bumrah strikes Bairstow on the pad, Bumrah wants LBW. Umpire isn't having it.

20:42 (IST)

After 15 overs,England 130/4 ( Moeen Ali 1 , Jonny Bairstow 38)

Mohammed Shami to bowl a third over. He's got a wicket in both of his first two overs, can he make it three in three? Dot and wide to start. Single and then yet another wide. And then he's hammered down the ground, it's in the slot and Bairstow swings and sends it out for six. Better ball, slightly slower delivery, and Bairstow can't hit it with enough strength, it's hit to deep mid-wicket. OUT! A third over and a third wicket for Mohammed Shami, he is looking so so good tonight! Livingstone tries to go for a big shot but Shami's yorker is right on the money.

20:32 (IST)

After 14 overs,England 118/3 ( Liam Livingstone 29 , Jonny Bairstow 31)

Rahul Chahar's third over, and he's hit for the first six of the match by Liam Livingstone, who lofts down the ground. Dot, and then a boundary! Livingstone pulls over backward square leg, that was inches away from a six. Another dot, another four! This one hit square of the wicket. England then take a single, but a no ball is called. Bairstow tries to hammer it down the ground, but doesn't catch it quite right, and it's only a single.

20:30 (IST)

After 13 overs,England 101/3 ( Liam Livingstone 14 , Jonny Bairstow 30)

Good couple of overs this for England. Chahar is hit for 12, with two boundaries off the bat of Livingstone. R Ashwin then concedes eight, including yet another boundary.

20:22 (IST)

After 11 overs,England 81/3 ( Liam Livingstone 2 , Jonny Bairstow 22)

R Ashwin's third over incoming. Can he silence his doubters and pick up a wicket or two? Begins with a single, and two dots. Another single and it's almost a caught and bowler! Came off the leading edge and landed agonisingly short of Ashwin. Dot ball to end the over, not a bad one.

20:18 (IST)

After 10 overs,England 79-3 ( Liam Livingstone 1 , Jonny Bairstow 21)

Chahar continues, begins with a single. OUT! Rahul Chahar strikes and Dawid Malan departs after being well and truly outfoxed by a wrong 'un! Very nicely bowled from the spinner. Two dots and two singles to end the over, only three runs conceded and a wicket as well.

20:16 (IST)

After 9 overs,England 76-2 ( Dawid Malan 18 , Jonny Bairstow 19)

More R Ashwin to enjoy now. Bairstow pulls it behind square leg on the first ball and runs two. Three singles and a dot follow. Oh well bowled! Malan tried to come down the track to hit, and Ashwin was alert to it, bowling a very short delivery that resulted in just a dot.

20:10 (IST)

After 8 overs,England 71/2 ( Dawid Malan 17 , Jonny Bairstow 15)

Rahul Chahar to bowl his first over now. Single off the first ball. Oh, bit of a mistimed shot from Bairstow, who digs the ball out from under his feet, but still manages to reach the boundary ropes. Another four, Bairstow is looking good already! This one was a much more calculated shot, it's lofted over cover nicely. Three singles to end the over, 12 runs off it.

20:10 (IST)

After 7 overs,England 59/2 ( Dawid Malan 16 , Jonny Bairstow 5)

R Ashwin to bowl now, it's been ages since he played a T20I, so he'll be glad to get a go with the ball. Three singles and a dot to begin, before Malan makes some room for himself with great footwork and lofts a shot over cover for four! Dot to end, eight off it.

20:00 (IST)

After 6 overs,England 51/2 ( Dawid Malan 10 , Jonny Bairstow 3)

Mohammed Shami gets the final over of the powerplay. Single off the first ball. Something's up with Roy's gloves, he runs off to get another pair. Another single. OUT! Mohammed Shami strikes again! This time it's Jason Roy who is sent packing, as his nonchalant flick ends up picking out Bumrah at short fine leg, who takes a fairly easy catch. Jonny Bairstow on now. Wide, dot and double follow to bring up the fifty run-mark for England. A single off the last ball.

19:53 (IST)

After 5 overs,England 45/1 ( Jason Roy 16 , Dawid Malan 9)

Jasprit Bumrah to bowl a second over. He begins with a couple of dot balls, before Malan gets a thick edge which takes his shot between a diving Rishabh Pant and the slip fielder for a boundary. Don't think Malan knew too much about that one. Ooh, nice ball, shaping away from Malan and almost gets a nick on its way through to Pant. Boundary #2 for Malan now, opens up the face of the bat and sends it past the fielder's dive at cover. Nicely done. Dot ball to end the over.

19:50 (IST)

After 4 overs,England 37/1 ( Jason Roy 16 , Dawid Malan 1)

Roy did it, so Buttler had to one-up him! Another scoop over short fine leg, and another boundary. Dot, and then Buttler hammers one straight down the ground, one bounce and over the ropes for a boundary. Wide, this is not a good first over from Mohammed Shami so far. Bowled 'em! Jos Buttler was looking dangerous, and Mohammed Shami does ever so well to send him back to the dugout with a brilliant slower delivery that crashes onto the stumps.

19:43 (IST)

After 3 overs,England 27/0 ( Jos Buttler (C) (W) 10 , Jason Roy 16)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl his second over, and he's hit for four off the first ball by Jason Roy, who comes down the pitch and unleashes a lofted on-drive. A little bit more power and that would've reached the fence. Double and single follow, before a no-ball means that England have a free hit. Well bowled, yorker into the feet of Buttler and he can't do much more than run a single. Ooh, could have been a run out there, there was some confusion and Buttler took off from the non-striker's end, but found himself having to do a 180. Had the fielder found the stumps with the throw, it would have been out without a question. Oh, very nice work from Roy, he plays a lovely paddle shot and it goes for four to fine leg.

19:38 (IST)

After 2 overs,England 14/0 ( Jos Buttler (C) (W) 9 , Jason Roy 5)

Jasprit Bumrah to bowl the second over, and it begins in identical fashion to the first over, as Buttler flicks it through mid-wicket and runs a quick double. Three more singles in the over.

19:33 (IST)

After 1 overs,England 8/0 ( Jos Buttler (C) (W) 5 , Jason Roy 3)

Alright then, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets us underway, and it's a good first over for England. Jason Roy runs three on the first delivery, and then after a few dot balls, Jos Buttler unleashes a boundary through the covers. Dot on the fifth and then a quick single, eight off the first.

19:14 (IST)

Virat Kohli: "Things were different before IPL, now it's difficult to look beyond KL Rahul with the way he's been playing. I will be batting at 3 in this tournament. That's the only thing I can reveal for now."

19:05 (IST)

India win the toss and opt to bowl first

Virat Kohli: "We're bowling first so we can get together, and enter the field as one team. We've played with different teams recently, but fielding together will help build team spirit."

Chris Greaves' all-round performance powers Scotland to shock win over Bangladesh

Chris Greaves starred with bat and ball as Scotland shocked Bangladesh with a six-run win on Sunday's opening day of the Twenty20 World Cup.

Greaves' 28-ball 45 guided Scotland to 140-9 and he then took two key wickets with his leg-spin to keep down Bangladesh to 134-7 in the second first-round match of the day in Muscat.

India aim to find perfect combination in warm-ups before mega clash vs Pakistan

All-rounder Hardik Pandya's form and few batting slots will be foremost on captain Virat Kohli's mind as India look to make the most of two T20 World Cup warm-up matches starting with a game against England on Monday.

With all the Indian players coming straight from the recently-concluded IPL, match practice isn't a problem for Kohli and his men but getting the perfect combination on the park before the high-profile opening game against Pakistan on 24 October is a priority.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the T20 World Cup 2021!

In the build-up to the tournament, Virat Kohli's India will take on Eoin Morgan's England side in a warm-up match. Stay tuned as we bring you all the latest updates.

India vs England, T20 World Cup warm-up match, Live Updates:

Moeen Ali gets a go with the ball. Single to begin. Oh, crunched by KL Rahul, it's turning into the arc of KL Rahul, who finds the gap between deep mid-wicket and long-on. Dot and then KL Rahul goes one better with a maximum, it's short and it's pulled to deep square leg! Single from Rahul, good cricket. Played fine with the sweep by Ishan Kishan, and the duo run two.

Preview: Hardik Pandya's form and the distribution of spots in the batting order will be playing on skipper Virat Kohli's mind as India begin their preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup with a practice match against England on Monday.

Seeing as most, if not all, Indian players are coming off of the Indian Premier League, match practice isn't a problem for Kohli and his men but getting the perfect combination on the park before the high-profile opening game against Pakistan on 24 October is a priority.

Against England and Wednesday's game versus Australia, the Indian team management would look to give the players who are still not automatic choices in the playing XI, more overs to bat or bowl to get a better idea about their current form.
